Correctly name Star and Victory medals: 2573 Pte T Dicker Welsh R

BWM privately named 2573 T Dicker 2nd Welsh Regt. We can only assume the original lost and replaced by recipient.

Thomas was born to Edward and Mary Ann in Beckington, Somerset in 1877. Other records have his date of birth ranging from then until 1880.

In 1891, we find the family living at 18 Church Hill, Beckington.

We see in 1901, he has moved to Carmarthen, West Wales and is seen to be working as a farm hand.

He enlisted into the Welsh Regiment around 1908 and went overseas with the 2nd Battalion to France on the 18th of January 1915. He did serve in the 1st Battalion also.

We see a wound report dated for him dated 21/4/1915 and here it is recorded he suffered gunshot wounds to the scalp, legs and right arm so possibly shrapnel. This record his length of service as 7 years. We think this as another wound report is seen dated 25/5/1915 and this time it is recorded as a gunshot wound to the left hand.

Again, another wound report, dated 17/12/1918. No record of the wounding but this notes his next of kin to live at Standerwick, Somerset.

In 1921, we find Thomas working again as a farm hand although now he has returned to Somerset and is in Rudge.

In 1939, Thomas is seen as Army Incapacitated and living at Bridge St, Bourton, Shaftesbury, Dorset.

All medals have original silk ribbons.
