Unnamed group of 4 WWII medals along with Hors De Combat medals, self purchased for soldiers injured in service.

Along with the lot comes a Royal Fusiliers blazer badge, a Manchester Regiment cap badge plus swagger stick topper, a Royal British Legion badge plus 2 damaged ‘For Loyal Service’ badges along with a miniature medal ribbon bar and a HM Armed Forces Veterans badge.

3530374 Fusilier Leslie Rushworth joined the 2nd Bn Manchester Regiment in 1937 and was based at Ladysmith Barracks at Ashton Under Lyne. He later transferred to the Royal Fusiliers, City Of London Regiment. Records show his to be injured with the 2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers attached to the Royal Fusiliers on the 27th February 1944. Another record shows it corrected to say he was serving with the 1st Bn Royal Fusiliers.

Also included is paperwork relating to Fusilier Rushworth sympathising for the suffering caused by injuries occurred on May 11th 1944, General Sir Reginald May.

The injuries were caused during the landings at Anzio Beach.

The lot comes in a case addressed to Mr L Rushworth, Langdale Residential Home, 119 Hornby Road, Blackpool.
