WWII group, 1939/45 Star, France & Germany Star, defence and War Medals unnamed as issued. TEM correctly named 1435742 Gnr GC Smith RA

Gordon Charles Smith enlisted into the TA on November 10th 1938. He first served with 249/80 Anti Aircraft Brigade RA/TA in Hampshire. He stays with these chaps until 1941 when he transfers to the 174 Heavy Anti Aircraft. The 249/80 AA would be sent to Persia in October 1942. With the 174 HAA, he again serves on the south coast of England. They become a part of the 21st Army Group and he heads overseas to Dunkirk in the August of 1944.

After making his way to Germany, we see he now transfers to 21 Flak Disarm Staff and serves alongside 84 Group (Flak Disarmament) Royal Air Force. Responsible for making safe all ordnance and weapons in Germany.

All medals have original silk ribbons.
