WWII MID grouping. Royal Navy Submarines. MID 1945 HMS Subtle. Sunderland.

A nice grouping to that of Petty Officer James Frederick Lees Young Royal Navy Submarines.

Born in March 1918, James volunteered for service in June 1940 and after basic training headed to HMS Dolphin in November 1940.
His entire wartime service is aboard submarines.

Included with the group is quite a fair bit of paperwork from his certificate of service to his enrollment into the Royal Fleet Reserve and a copy of the London Gazette entry dated 20th of November 1945 as well as a group photograph at the annual reunion in 1986 where James is marked out.
