William was born c1895 at Stockcross in Berkshire.
1911 a carter boy at spring cottages, stock cross ,Newbury, Berkshire.
He is noted as entering France 7th August 1915 and being killed in action 16th December 1915 whist serving with the 8th battalion Berkshire Regiment in battle of loos he was killed behind the lines whist eating breakfast by a shell.
Sadly his father was killed in a accident when a tree fell on his at home .
His brother sidney served as 1009130 in Royal field artillery having survived the war he returned home and was being posted abroad when he was killed on the railway lines in 1921 ,his mother losing her husband and 2 of her sons within a few years .
