Robert was born to Herbert and Ellen in Millbrook, Cornwall approx 1891.

In 1911 we find him working as a Borough Council clerk and living at 38 Penrose Street in Plymouth.

He served with the Devonshire Royal Garrison Artillery (TF)

He was killed in action on the 28th of June 1917 whilst serving with the 48th Siege Battery RA.

He is buried at Ferme Olivier Cemetery, Vlaarderen, Belgium.
