William Edward swift was born c1879 at Manchester.

A coachman by occupation living at Newton Hall cottage, Poulton le fylde on enlistment 9th December 1915 in to the Army Veterinary Corps.

Egyptian expeditionary force 4th September 1916 and transferred to 1st / 4th Battalion Cheshire Regiment 11th February 1918 .

Discharged March 1920 .

1921 a widower living at 34 Cambridge Road, Blackpool and still a coachman .
