James Thomas day was born c1876 at Lambeth in Surrey a Mason by occupation he enlisted in 1894 using the alias James Thomas Horne.

James took part In the occupation of crete 1897-8 and served in Jamaica 1913 to 1914 .

The 1911 army census Ireland has him serving with 33 company royal engineers at Camden barracks, crosshaven , Cork, Ireland.

Awarded a long service good conduct medal in 1913 ,

He served through ww1 .

He is futhur entitled to a bwm and lsgc medal whereabouts unknown.
