William Hadyn Thomas was born to Morgan and Harriet in Gwaen Cae Gurwen, Ammanford, in June 1915.
He worked as a coal worker which we see in the 39 Register with his addres 27 Twynyrefail Place, Gwaen Cae Gurwen.
He is seen to enlist in May 1939 into the 141st Field Regiment RA
The 141st (Queens Own Dorset Yeomanry) were a home based unit throughout WWII.
William we see, has transferred to the 7th Medium Regiment RA, a part of the 5th Army Group in North West Europe.
It looks like he went overseas in late 1944, around November.
He again transferred, this time to the 6th Field Regiment RA in August 1945. A part of the 3rd Inafantry Division.
His Tracer card indicates he was released to the reserves in August 1946, presumably after he had earned his GSM.
His TEM was awarded in 1946.
William died in September 1995.
All medals have original silk ribbons.
