George was born c1881 .
He landed in France 7th October 1914 .
Courtmartialled for theft at bailleul 3rd Jan 1915 he was sentenced to 2 years hard labour , commuted to 3 months field punishment number 1.
He was later wounded having his right leg amputated and gunshot wounds to right forearm .
He was discharged 29th March 1918 with 70% disablement.
