George weightman dowsey (magog) was a labourer by occupation born 19th September 1884 at Sunderland, Durham.
He joined the Royal Navy as a Stoker 24th June 1903.
Served on various ships ,1st July 1913 until 16th August 1917 aboard hms sentinel a sentinel class scout cruiser part of the 9th destroyer fleet in firth of forth early in war then in Mediterranean.
He died at Sunderland in September 1960 .
As a interesting side note
His brother was killed in action in 1918 whist serving in France with 93rd field coy Royal engineers.
And his son William dowsey magog was killed by enemy action in merchant Navy on board ss horseferry 11th march 1942 .
