Pre war he worked for pickfords as a capstan hand , outside porter.

He enlisted in 5th battalion royal fusiliers 14th November 1912 .

Entered France 23rd November 1914 .

Noted as absent/ deserter in Dover 21st January 1917 .

Later served as 612093 in 229 pow prisoner of war coy labour corp .

Tried to claim for deafness due to service .

Lived at 93 harbent Road, battersea / Clapham Junction.

1921 still at same address a motor driver for Huntley & Palmer biscuit manufacturers.

He died in 1940 .
