James was born 29th November 1899 at wallasey and enlisted 24th October 1914 aged just 14 he entered 2b balkans 27th July 1915 ( via Alexandria) the 4th landed at suvla Bay 9th August with heavy casualties.

He also served as 235819 in 17th battalion royal Welsh Fusiliers ( 2nd North Wales pals ) Battalion being wounded gsw scalp with them in October 1918 and discharged due to wounds 11th January 1919 with 40% disablement.

1921 he is manager of the farmers Arms in wallasey village .

1939 an area manager cotton & general produce living at 24 St Mary’s St, wallasey.

He died at wallasey 10th July 1972 whist living at same address as 1939.
