A rather unusual combination of period miniatures mounted as worn these are a match of captain irvine of ss Laconia fame .

1915 star , British War Medal, mercantile marine medal, victory medal ,1911 coronation & Royal naval reserve officers decoration .

Captain w r d irvine rnr was captain of ss Laconia when it was sunk in February 1917 by uboat reputedly bringing us into ww1 quicker .

12 months later as captain of ss aurania which was torpedoed and sunk of Ireland.

This is an unusual combination with few recipients entitled to those 6 medals .
