Denman was born in July 1888 to Rowland and Lizzie.

We find him in 1911 living at 5 Norfolk Street in Kings Lynn.

He enlisted first into the 29Bn (Reserve) (University& Public Schools) Royal Fusiliers in July 1915.His civilian trade noted as that of a chemist.

He was sent overseas to France with the 21Bn (4th Public Schools) Royal Fusiliers in late 1915. His MIC indicated the award of the Pair only.

He was wounded by gunshot in March 1917 which resulted in his left leg being amputated and was discharged in May 1917.

In 1921, he married Mary Caroline Lee.

In 1939 we see them living at 9 Victoria Avenue, New Hunstanton in Norfolk with him working as a builders clerk.

Denman died in 1943.
