David Lewis Edwards was born 17th December 1889 at Liverpool, Lancashire.
He passed his certificates as 2nd then 1st mate on foreign going steamships prewar .
served in the ripoyal naval reserve during ww1 on hms orcoma a ocean liner converted to an armed Merchant Cruiser and leviathan a drake class armoured cruiser .
He lived at 39 Stuart Rd, Walton, Liverpool & 45 Arnold St, Liverpool.
demobbed 1919 he passed his masters certificate the same year .
