Born c1893, a carter by occupation, he joined up 11th November 1914
He served in the 2/7th Home Service Battalion and the 1/5th Battalion in Egypt and France. He suffered a gunshot wound head on 5th April 1917 he was discharged due to defective vision on 23rd February 1919 his address was 26 Castle Street, Knott Hill Manchester
