Born in 1894 to Frank and Martha, he was one of ten children. Samuel lived at 477 Stockport Rd, Denton, Manchester.
He enlisted in December 1916 and is entitled to a pair.
He also served as 580708 in the 735th Company, Labour Corps.
From records we know he was wounded in June 1918.
He married Ellen Brooks in 1923.
