Born at Cork in Ireland 9th May 1870 .
He enlisted as boy sailor 9th May 1888 ( serving from 23rd Feb 1886 hms impregnable).
Served as master at arms on hms canopus 2nd August 1914 to 5th May 1916 so during battle of Falklands and Dardanelles Campaign.
1921 a retired Royal Navy sailor at fencroft ,Preston, Paignton in Devon.
1939 a retired master at arms at 8 headland Grove, Paignton in Devon.
An unusual group to a desirable rank and ship.
