Correctly named pair 142362 3AM H Rowland RAF      Defence Medal unnamed as issued.

Harold Rowland was born in July 1900 to Thomas and Victoria. His first known address is 79 Nunnery Lane, York where his father is noted as working as a machinist in 1901.

We find him next in 1911 living at 30 Fairfax St, York with his family and now we see his father is working as a butcher.

Harlod enlisted into the Royal Air Force in April 1918 and was sent overseas to France in September 1918 until April 1919, just catching the very end of the War.

We know he married Florence May Johnson in York in 1929 and was living at 33 Moorgarth Avenue, York. He is there in 1939 where it is noted he is working as a railway clerk as well as serving in the ARP.

Harold died in York in 1969.

The Pair are swing mounted on original ribbons on a clasp for wear, the Defence Medal is separate.
