Born Landport in Hampshire 19th May 1863.

Joined royal navy April 1882 .

Served on many well known ships inc hms Collingwood, Royal Oak ,Duke of Wellington, revenge etc .

Pensioned in 1902 he worked at whale Island, Portsmouth as a skilled labourer for the admiralty.

1911 same job living at 54 St Stephens Road, Buckland.

Served during ww1 hms excellent being awarded the bwm ( whereabouts unknown) and thd silver war badge .

1921 same job same address .

He died July 1931 at Portsmouth.
