A ww1 victory on original ribbon named to 6199ts j flynn tr rnr .

John flynn was born 1st April 1896 at Scarborough In Yorkshire.

He enlisted into Royal naval reserve his rating confirmed 4th November 1916 .

He was in the Royal Naval hospital at haslar in 1917 being discharged with hip disease with war badge no 19108 on 1st November 1917 ( whereabouts unknown).

He was in mercantile marine on board the steamship fishing vessel stathord ( Scarborough) on 22nd February 1920 when she was sunk by a mine with loss of all hands witnessed by another fishing vessel, his next of kin was Elizabeth flynn of 30 the bolts, Scarborough.
