Edwin was born 12th November 1893 in Hertfordshire.

He joined the Royal Navy as boy sailor class 2 2nd September 1910 .

During ww1 he served at various shore bases and on board ship inc Hms Shannon & Hms actaeon ( torpedo training establishment at Sheerness) .

He continued service interwar .

And served on during ww2 being mid in 1945 .

His relation by marriage was Maurice George Fennell who served in the raf please see separate listing for his medals .
