1939 star ,France and Germany star, Defence and War Medals unnamed as issued in transmittal box addressed Mr j mead ,155 Holland Road, Clacton on sea ,Essex.
Various photos of Jack during his service and a detailed pension appeal tribunal assessment from 1952 relating to his service stating he entered nwe 18th June 1944 and was with chest wound 10th July 1944 at 20th general hospital then evacuated on hospital carrier Duke of rothesay to cherry Knowle hospital Sunderland 16th July stating shell wound right shoulder and right lateral chest Mortar bomb enemy action .
Discharged as fit for duty September 1944 but returned with pains due to wounds in October they were unable to remove the shrapnel so he was downgraded to b1 category and transferred to Royal engineers as a clerk .
