Correctly named K40433 W Minard Sto1 RN

Born in Camberwell in 1898 to Thomas and Bridget, William worked as a coach painter for the British Motor Cab Company in Kensington prior to enlistment.

In 1911, the family are found livingat 161 New Church Road in Camberwell.

He enlisted in 1917 and served his first year aboard HMS Blenheim and his second year at HMS Egmont.

He was discharged in 1919.

In 1921, he is seen to be back living with his parents.

He married Edith Carpenter in 1923.

In 1939, he is living at 28 Galahad Road in Lewisham. Interesting fact is that he is seen as to be working as a bomb cleaner and filler.

We can presume he worked at the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich due to his locality. Research would be needed to see if his work warranted a Defence Medal.

William died in 1975.

Included in the lot is the Flattened transmittal box, paper envelopes and ribbons.
