William Arthur was born to Edwin and Caroline in October 1883.
He married Amy Florence Elizabeth Lowers in 1903.
In 1911, we find them living at 40 Tupman Place, Friars Street, Blackfriars Road, London. William is seen to be working as a carman at that time.
He served from December 1915 until May 1918, eventually being discharged with the Silver War Badge numbered 397356 (not present) for wounds.
He served with the 22nd Bn (The Queens, County of London) and was later re-numbered to 1/43723 and served with the 1Bn Royal Irish Rifles (Royal Ulster Rifles). He had served with 3Bn too.
In 1939, we find him living at 315 Croxted Road, Lambeth and working as a wholesaler of meat.
William died in February 1943
