Correctly named 44061 Pte JJ Brown S Wales Bord

John Joseph Brown was born to John and Ellen Brown in 1896, his father was a ships cook. In 1901 and 19111, we find the family living at Lampeter Road, Liverpool

He married Edith Scott in 1915.

He first enlisted into the South Wales Borderers then later transferred to the 10th and later 25th Bn Royal Welsh Fusiliers.

He was discharged from service due to the effects of trench fever and being gassed. His Military papers have an address of 7 Waltham Road, Anfield, Liverpool.

He is at that address in 1921 with Edith and is seen to be working as a railway porter for Liverpool Overhand Railways.

Also included in the lot are three Liverpool Education Committee good attendance medals dated 1904, 1905 and 1906, all named to Joseph Brown.

The WWI medals have long original silk ribbons.
