Correctly named 23434 Pte HG Burgess Hamps R
Harold George Burgess was born to Harry and Harriet in Little Harrowdon, Northampton in 1896.
He served with the 1st, 2nd and 14th (1st Portsmouth) Battalions during his service and we find a wound report for him dated 1/9/1917.
He married Grace Field in 1920 and in 1921we see him working for AE Ward, Ladies and Gents Tailors as a cutter. He is living at19 Carnarvon Road in Leyton.
In 1939, at the same address, he is still in the rag trade and living at the same address.
Harold died in 1966.
Both medals have original silk ribbons.
