Correctly named 625723 Gnr GW Parry HAC Arty

Gordon Welford Parry was born to Robert and Elizabeth in 1899 in Birkenhead. His Father was a shipping clerk.

We find the family in 1911 living at 6 Redcliffe Gardens in Ilford.

Gordon enlisted into B Company, 2nd Bn Honourable Artillery Company on the 24th of September 1916. We see he accidently fractured his right arm in 1918. He was discharged as unfit for further service in November 1918. He is listed in the 1915-199 HAC membership list.

in 1921, we see he married Josephine Kelly in Wavertree, St Thomas, Lancashire.

He is listed in the London Gazette in 1937 as a civil servant, Unemployment Board clerk.

In 1939, we see him and Josephine living apart. Gordon is at 7 Clifton Road, Littlehampton, Sussex in a shaded home, whereas Josephine is living in Derby. Maybe due to WWII? Josephine died in 1941.

It is noted via electoral rolls that they do have an address in Liverpool in the early 1930’s as 57 Almonds Green, Liverpool and in the later 1930’s as 129 Almonds Green, Liverpool.

Gordon is noted to have died, West Derby, in 1972.

The Pair is his full entitlement and the medals have original silk ribbons.
