Whilst undertaking research, we did find a Gilbert Ruff.

Born 1896 in Bignor, Sussex to Rheuben and Catherine, we find him living with his parents in 1911 at the Schoolhouse, Eastergate near Chichester. He is working then as an office clerk.

He married Gladys Tuck in 1918.

By 1921, he is living at Stockbridge Road in Chichester and working as a part time chauffeur and gas meter inspector.

He died in 1961.

Both medals have modern replacement ribbons.
