He enlisted into 3rd Reserve Bn Bedford & Hertfordshire Regiment when at the time was living at 3 Forest Road, Manney Estate, Romford. The 3rd Bn were to remain at home throughout the war but Percival also served with the Training Reserve so possibly went overseas with them. A wound report dated September 1918 was found for him.

He married Emily Elizabeth Charlotte Savage in Romford in 1924.

We see them in 1939 living now at 74 Clydesdale Road, Hornchurch, Essex. Percival is working as a wholesale grocery salesman.

Percival died in 1969 in Havering, Greater London.
