Correctly named 5436 Pte S Millward N Staff R

Born in 1882 to John and Elizabeth Samuel married Mary Ethel Perry in 1903.

He attested for service in April 1915. He was a collier by trade.

It is noted he was discharged as ‘not likely to become an efficient soldier’

He served with the 1/5th North Staffordshire Regiment however it is noted he had served in the 18th Battalion (1st Public Works Pioneers) Middlesex Regiment.

He had also served as 27554 with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Samuel died in 1926.

The lot includes cap badges for all his three regiments and his full entitlement of a Pair with original silk ribbons

Also comes with two medal boxes, one of which is slightly crushed as well as the delivery envelope which gives us his address as 41 Franklyn Street, Hqanley, Stoke on Trent.

The lot is mounted on card for display.

Research is also included, supplied by former owners.
