WWI Pair correctly named Lieut FE Mothersole

Born in Ferryhill, Durham to Henry and Elizabeth, Frederick Ernest first saw military service with the 6th Northumberland Fusiliers in 1909 with the service number 1217. He served for 1 year and 219 days. His trade is noted as a draper.
His next of kin is noted as his brother, Frank Mothersole of 78 Holly Avenue, Jesmond.

His WWI service saw him with the South African Yeomanry with the service number C/8156, then he serves as 33981 with the Northumberland Fusiliers.

He served in the African Campaigns and gains a commission to the Royal Scots, 1 & 2nd Battalions. He was attached to the 6Bn Royal Lancaster Regiment.

He was promoted to full Lieutenant in November 1918.

He married Jean Guy in 1917.
Frederick died in South Africa in 1939.

All medals have original silk ribbons.

Also included with the lot is a ribbon strip, a finger ring as well as two sets of dogtags, one named to 21777 KJ Hanssen and the other 208140 E Rosenberg SAAF.
