Correctly named 1809 Pte W Munro Gordon Highlanders

William was born on the 21st July 1897 in Garmouth, Peterhead. He served with the 5th Bn Gordon Highlanders and went overseas with them to France in May 1915. He later transferred to the 14th Bn Highland Light Infantry with the service number 54465 and was with these when he was captured at Arwentieres on the 9th April 1918. His battalion were in a day long attack with the Germans at Laventie when he was captured.

He has a next of kin named as P Golvin with the address of 10 Threadneale Road, Peterhead.

Medal could do with a clean and all ribbons are original silks.
