Correctly named 2800 Pte R Foreman L N Lanc R

Robert was born to Archibald and Mary in 1889.

We find the faily in 1911 living at 3 Mercer Street, Preston with Robert working as a crealer in a spinnery.

He enlisted into the 4th TF Bn Loyal North Lancashire regiment in October 1914. 

He was sent overseas to France in December 1915.

He was given a new service number 20073.

He was discharged due to wounds, shrapnel to his hand, on the 26/12/1917 and awarded a Silver War Badge numbered 292938 (not present)

He is entitled to a 1915 Star Trio.

He married Alice Ann Akers in 1920.

In 1939 we find them living at 93 St Marys Street in Preston with Robert working as a general labourer.

Robert died in 1975.

The medal has a modern replacement ribbon.
