Correcly named 29010 Pte FE Vye Dorset R

Frederick Eustace Vye was born to Frederick and Mary in Wareham, Dorset in 1891.

In 1911, we find him living at 1 York Buildings, High Street, Swanage and working as a butchers assistant. His father was also a butcher.

He served with the 1st Battalion Dorset Regiment and is entitled to just the Pair.

By September 1918, he is known to have been serving with the 6th Battalion of the Gloucestershire Regiment.

Post war, 1921, he returned to the family home and carried on in the butchery trade.

He married Nellie Carter in 1928.

By 1939, he had moved to 67 High Street in Swanage and still a butcher, it appears for him to be working for himself as the shop owner.

He died in June 1966.

The medal retains its original silk ribbon.
