Leonard William James Blow was born in Deptford to William and Ada in 189In 1911, we find him as a schoolboy living at home at 45 Feldhay Road, Lewisham.

He served with the 2nd (City of London) Royal Fusiliers in WWI and was in France from 1916 until 1918. The 2nd Bn saw lots of action at the Somme, the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Battles of the Scarpe during the Arras Offensive, the Battle of Langemark, Poelcappelle and Cambrai to name a few.

He is seen to have a service number in the Labour Corps as 393544.

He married Phyllis Mabel Smith in 1918.

He is seen to have served with the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment with the service number 5944327. We find this in 1920 when he enlists into the Tank Regiment. He is listed among soldiers that were due to head to India in 1922 aboard the SS Scotain from Southampton although they note his initials as DWH instead of LWJ.

He was awarded his LSGC in 1926 and the medal has him in the service of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.

In 1939, we find his address as 50 Woodlands Road, Farnborough and it states he is serving in the Army.

Leonard died in June 1943.

All the medals have original silk ribbons apart from the LSGC which is a modern replacement.

The Pair are swing mounted on a clasp as worn with a space where the LSGC has at some point fallen off. The WWII medals are loose
