Edmund Albert Gough was born in 1921 to Albert and Jane.
In 1939, we he see him working in the same flour mill as his father working as a cleaner.
Edmund joins the Merchant Navy and is aboard the SS Empire Crossbill as a part of Convoy SC42 when it was sunk off the coast of Greenland.
SC42 was a convoy consisting of 64 ships. 16 ships were sunk by Uboats enroute.
SS Empire Crossbill was sunk with all hands by U82. on the 11th of September 1941.
Edmund is remembered upon the Tower Hill Memorial.
Please not his Admiralty slip is named Edward instead of Edmund.
