Benjamin tointon was born c1890 at sculcoates, Hull.
A labourer by occupation he enlisted in 1908 into East Yorkshire Regiment with service number8939 , found guilty of indecency at Winchester in 1910 he was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment his mother address not known his brothers one in Hull asylum the other serving in East Yorkshire Regiment as well . he was discharged in 1910 but obviously rejoined for ww1 .
Entered 2b galipolli 13th July 1915 with 6th battalion East Yorkshire Regiment and was wounded 30th September 1915 .
Again wounded 29th September 1917 ( nok noted as living Hull).
Later joined royal army Ordnance Corps as 40421 .
