Correctly named 10458 Pte M Burns R Lanc R

Born to Thomas and Margaret in 1893, Michael in 1911 was working as a dock labourer and living at 220 Hornsby Street in Liverpool.

He served with the 1st Bn and went overseas to France in January 1915 earning his 1915 Trio.

Whilst the battalion was serving in Carnoy in September 1915, Michael was killed in action on September the 1st.

He is buried at Sucrerie Military Cemetery, Colincamps.

An address found for him on his pension card is noted as 6 Burroughs Gardens, Limekiln Lane, Liverpool.

All medals have modern replacement ribbons.
