Edward was born in Llangollen, Denbighshire in 1895 to Edward and Margaret.
In 1911, we find him living in Moelfre, Oswestry and working as a farm hand.
He enlisted into the 4th (Denbighshire) Bn Royal Welsh Fusiliers in February 1913. His civilian trade is noted as that of a waggoner.
He landed in France in November 1914 earning himself the 1914 Trio but no clasp.
A wound report dated the 28th of February 1916 shows us he is still with the 4th Bn. His arm was fractured due to a gunshot wound.
The 4Bn were at Les Brabis at that time supporting trenches.
He was discharged from service in May 1918 and awarded a Silver War Badge numbered B5058 (not present)
We find an address for him as Ivor Cottages, Victoria Road, Brynteg near Wrexham.
In 1921 we see his as an out of work timber man for coal mines and living at New Inn in the Moss Valley.
The same year he married Mary Harriet Edwards. They were married until her death in 1938.
In 1939, we find Edward at Criggin Hall in Forden, Montgomeryshire working as a farm carter.
He married Annie Williams in 1940.
Edward died in 1987.
