Albert cunninghqm was born in Salford, Lancashire.

He entered France with 2nd battalion Manchesters 15th August 1914.

Noted as wounded 27th October 1914 and 29th March 1915 in France.

Sent to Mesopotamia in 1916 he was transferred to 1st Manchester Regiment and took part in the effort to relieve kut el amara.

He was wounded during this action 18th April and died of wounds the same day and is buried in amara war cemetery.

His widow lived with their children at 3 Haughton Street, collyhurst,Manchester.
