George joined the Royal field artillery July 1891 .

Between 1907 and 1910 he was hospitalised on several occasions due to syphilis.

In 1910 he was courtmartialled and convicted of miscellaneous military offences.

He rejoined in 1914 .

He entered France 5th September 1915 and in November 1915 boarded ship for salonika.

He served in salonika with d battery 99th brigade until April 1918 suffering from malaria he went next to Malta probably to recuperate then returned home .

Address of his sister was given as 29 Webster St, Liverpool.

He ended the was a battery quarter master sergeant.
