John Stanway was born 13th november 1896 at Northwich in Cheshire.

He enlisted at Northwich 19th January 1915 a fish market at his family shop at 6 apple Market St, Northwich.

He served with 12th battalion in France September to October 1915 before being send to salonika.

He served there until end of the War suffering influenza 29th September 1918 .

1921 a fishmonger living at 15 Chapel St, wincham ,nr Northwich, Cheshire.

1939 79 Chester Rd, Northwich. He died March 1940 in his early 40s .
