A 1915 star on replacement ribbon to the intersting rank of mechanic .

Named 291877 h haines mech rn .

Herbert was born 10 May 1880 at West Bromwich,  Staffordshire.

He joined the Royal Navy 17th 1880 as a stoker signing on for an initial 12 years .

He served on various ships inc canopus / magnificent / lord Nelson and yarmouth awarded a lsgc in early 1920s and then pensioned.

 

( also entitled to bwm victory and lsgc whereabouts unknown )
