Correctly named 13623 Pte SA Yarnold Worc R
Sidney Albert was born to William and Mary in January 1897.
His father William was a blacksmith and in 1911, Sidney was working with him.
He served with the 2nd Bn Worcestershire Regiment, landing in France in January 1915.
Records show him to have been captured at Festubert on the 15th of May 1915.
Records show to have had gunshot wounds to his back and buttocks.
He was also awarded a Silver War Badge (not present) with the number B55073 for wounds.
In 1939, we find him, a bachelor, living at 25 Teme Street, Tenbury Wells and working as a clock and watch repairer.
The medal comes with a long original silk ribbon.
