William Granville spiby born c1895 at Ashton under Lyme in Lancashire.

1911 William and John were both living at 154 Turner Lane Ashton u Lyme.

He joined initially the army service corp on 4th January 1915 being posted I the UK to 224 company of 39th division train being absent on 3 occasions he was discharged for misconduct on 20th April 1915 .

He obviously reenlisted into the 12th Manchester Regiment and was wounded 29th April 1918 and then waz inially reported as wounded and missing later confirmed as killed in action 25th August 1918.

John Edward spiby was born c1899 at Ashton under Lyme.

He served in 1st 9th Manchesters as 3654 then in the 12th Battalion as 351734 .

1939 living at 4 lord St, Dukinfield a winding master in cotton industry.

He died at Dukinfield 24th January 1975 .
