Born July 1881 Kings Norton, Worcestershire
John was a civil engineer. He initially served with the Nigerian Land Forces before being commissioned a 2nd Lieut 14th August 1916 Acting Captain 1918. Transferred to unemployed list in 1919 as a Flight Officer
Post war he must have returned to Nigeria to his engineering. In 1922 he returned to giving his intended address as 21 Carlisle Terrace The Hoe, Plymouth, Devon
In the 1930s he was noted as living at Bream House, Hornsbridge, Devon, still employed abroad as an engineer
He died October 1959 so possible he served in WW2 in some capacity worthy of more research
