Born in 1889 in Acton to George and Elizabeth, we see Henry James in 1911 living at 21 Stanley Road, Acton and working as a carman.

He married Lily May Borley in 1915.

He served with the 11th Battalion Royal Fusiliers who were heavily engaged in the German Spring Offensive ‘Operation Michael’ from March 1918.

We see that Henry was captured but died from wounds aboard a POW train with date of death noted as 22/3/1918.
