Correctly named Pte Tim Sheehan 57ft

Please note that the naming to the medal is damaged and hard to read after maybe an attempted erasure. That said, it possible to see enough to find out the recipient.

Timothy enlisted in March 1854 and was given the service number 2751 with the 57th Foot, Middlesex Regiment. it is noted on bis papers that he was underage.

Medal rolls show his entitlement to both the medal and Sebastopol clasp.

His records tell us he was in the trenches during the Seige of Sebastopol when on the 23rd of May 1855 when he was victim to a gunshot wounding.

It is noted that he received a severe gunshot to the upper left of his neck which was to cause severe nerve damage leading to spasmodic convulsions.

His wounding is noted in the London Gazette dated 6/6/1855.

The medal, apart from the scratched out section of naming is in a nice condition and the suspender swivels as it should. It does have a replacement
